Born in Arezzo, she has always lived in the province of Siena. She made her athletics debut in the hurdles speciality, after having also practiced swimming. She then went on to join the 4x400 Italian foursome with which she is the Italian indoor and outdoor record holder. After the London Olympic experience, she achieved her best results at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, where she took the individual gold medal and another in the relay. In her spare time, she likes reading and listening to music, especially of the Italian variety.
